Flowers

Flowers from My Childhood, 2016

As a child, I was obsessed with flowers: I picked them in huge bunches and brought them with me anywhere. Relatively sheltered from gender norms, I wasn’t aware of how my fascination was perceived by my peers, only later realizing that my proclivities were perceived as both effeminate and queer.

The original photos of the Body/Framework series, I wanted to explore tyhe implication of my own body as a projection of its performativity, of its queerness, of its visibility reflected by the paradigm of identitarian categories. I stand alone, illuminated only by the blossoms of my childhood, made visible only by reflecting what has become to me the symbol of my open-ended self-acceptance.
